Your Furniture Delivery Is Scheduled—Now What?

Designing your room is the fun part—dreaming, planning, picking out the perfect pieces that reflect your style and how you want to live in your space. And once the furniture is ordered, there’s this exciting pause, followed by the best phone call ever:

“Your furniture is in. Let’s schedule your delivery!”

So… now what?

Let’s talk about how to get your home ready for delivery day—because while it’s definitely one of the most exciting milestones in the interior design process, there are a few simple steps you can take to make sure it’s smooth, stress-free, and (most importantly) fun.

Step 1: Prep the Room

Before your new furniture arrives, take a moment to prep the space:

  • Do you have existing furniture that needs to be moved or removed?

  • Are there accessories or lamps sitting on the current pieces?

  • Do you have a furniture layout plan in place?

  • Has your interior designer already mapped it out?

If you’re working with us here at Hamilton Park Interiors, good news—we’ve already handled this. Your designer has a clear vision, and our white-glove delivery team arrives prepped with that plan in hand.

If you're managing this with another provider or doing it yourself, take time to organize the layout and clear the room in advance. The more clarity upfront, the smoother your furniture installation will go.

Pro Tip: We’re happy to move existing furniture to other rooms at no extra charge—just let our customer service team know ahead of time so we can adjust the schedule.

Step 2: Prep the Path

Now think about the route from your driveway to the final destination:

  • Are there stairs involved?

  • Are doorways or hallways tight?

  • Is it snowy or icy out—do walkways need to be shoveled or salted?

These are the kinds of logistics that can impact the ease of your furniture delivery service. We’re seasoned problem solvers, but a heads-up helps us arrive with the right equipment and extra hands if needed.

Not sure if something might be a challenge? Just ask when you book your delivery—we’re happy to walk through it with you.

Step 3: Make Sure Your Interior Designer is There

This might be the most important part—and the one most people forget:

Have your interior designer there on delivery day.

At Hamilton Park, our designers love to be present for installation because sometimes—even with the best plans—the room speaks differently once the furniture is actually in it.

  • A chair might need to shift a few inches.

  • A lamp might look better across the room.

  • That throw pillow color? It might need a little tweak.

Our delivery team is top-tier and skilled in furniture placement. But the final touch? That’s all your designer. They’re there to make those last-minute adjustments, style each piece, fluff pillows, and stand back with you to say, “Yep, that’s the one.”

This is also the perfect time to assess final home styling details—from accessories and art to window treatments and accent lighting.

Step 4: Sit Back and Enjoy

Once everything is in its perfect place, your job? Sit back, pour your drink of choice, and take in the space.

You did it. You created a room that reflects your style, your life, and the way you want to feel at home.

We know furniture installation day can feel a little nerve-wracking, but when you work with our team, we make sure it’s not just seamless—it’s worth celebrating.

Whether you’re prepping for delivery day or just beginning your home design journey, we’re here from start to finish. From daydreaming to delivery—and everything in between.
