Most Common Interior Design Questions (And Our Honest Answers)

When clients first reach out to start a design project — whether it’s a full home, a remodel, or just new furniture — there are a few questions that almost always come up. And honestly, we love these questions. It tells us you care about the process and want to understand how everything works before jumping in.
So let’s walk through the most common interior design questions we get, and how we answer them.

Because transparency matters. And so does setting clear expectations from day one.
“How long will this take?”
This is usually the very first question — and understandably so.
The timeline for any interior design project depends on a few key things:
  • The scope of your project (one room vs. whole home)
  • What furniture or materials you need
  • Current lead times from manufacturers
  • When your home is ready (especially for remodels or new builds)
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer.
What we do promise is this:

we work within your desired timeframe whenever possible, and if something doesn’t fit that timeline, we tell you upfront. That way you can make informed decisions — whether that means choosing alternate products, adjusting expectations, or shifting priorities.
No guessing. No surprises.
“How much will this cost?”
Budget is always client-driven.
You work hard for your money, and we respect that. Our job is to help you use it wisely while avoiding mistakes.
If you already have a budget range in mind, great — we design within that.
If you don’t, we help guide you by looking at things like:
  • The size of your home
  • The price point of your home
  • The scope of your project
  • What you’re hoping to change or update
From there, we can give you a realistic investment range so you’re not walking into the process blind.
Interior design isn’t about spending the most — it’s about spending intentionally.
“Are there any extra fees?”
We believe in full transparency.
You’ll always know about any additional fees upfront, before moving forward.
Here’s what we don’t charge for:
  • Ordering
  • Customer service
  • Receiving
  • Storage
If applicable, we do charge a small delivery fee — and that’s always disclosed ahead of time.
There’s also no design fee when you’re purchasing furniture through us for the space we’re designing.
For remodels, new builds, or design-only projects (where furnishings aren’t being purchased), we provide a design fee proposal for approval before any work begins. That fee can be adjusted based on your needs and project scope.
Again — no surprises.
“Do you offer discounts?”
Our business is built on integrity.
That means we give you our best pricing upfront.
We don’t inflate prices just to offer “discounts” later — because that doesn’t build trust.
For products, we offer a consistent discount on new orders.

Floor models may have deeper discounts, and those are always clearly marked.
Simple. Honest. Straightforward.
“How involved do I get to be?”
As involved as you want.
Some clients love being part of every decision.

Some want to hand it over and let us take the reins.
Both are totally okay.
We tailor the process to you — your communication style, your availability, and how hands-on you want to be.
This is your home. You get to choose how the journey looks.
