Fall 2025 Market Recap: The Design Trends You’ll Be Seeing Everywhere

We just got back from High Point, North Carolina, for the Fall 2025 Furniture Market — and wow, there was so much beauty to take in. It’s always inspiring to walk through those stunning showrooms, seeing new pieces styled to perfection.

But for us, Market isn’t just about looking at pretty furniture.

As a design firm, one of the main reasons we attend is to stay at the forefront of the interior design industry — to really see where design is headed next. We spend days walking through showroom after showroom, soaking in the latest materials, colors, and silhouettes from dozens of vendors. That gives us a full picture of what’s emerging (and what’s fading out), so we can bring fresh, informed design ideas back to our clients.

And let me tell you — this Market did not disappoint. We’ll be diving deeper into each of these trends over the next few weeks, but here’s your first look at what took center stage at Fall Market 2025.

1. Moody, Cozy, and Luxurious

The overall vibe this Market? Warm, grounded, and sophisticated. Think old-school lounge energy reimagined for modern living.

Rich tones like chocolate, espresso, and deep mocha dominated the scene. Layered textures and luxurious fabrics made spaces feel deeply intentional and inviting — not dark or heavy, but soulful and comforting. These rooms invited you to sink in, slow down, and stay awhile.

2. Go Green (Earthy Edition)

The standout color this season: green — and not just any green. We saw it in organic shades like moss, olive, and avocado. These tones felt timeless and natural, balancing beautifully against darker finishes and rich, tactile materials. It’s a palette that feels at once grounded and elevated.

3. Velvets, Suedes & All Things Soft

Velvet isn’t going anywhere — if anything, it’s evolving. From crushed to cut to printed, velvet brought that subtle sheen and softness that instantly elevates a room.

We also saw suede make a strong appearance. While leather remains a Market staple, suede introduced an added layer of warmth and coziness. From cocoa browns to mushroom grays, it tied perfectly into the moody, luxurious aesthetic defining this season.

4. Mixing Patterns: Plaids & Florals

A fun surprise this year? Plaids and florals — everywhere. Traditional patterns are having their moment, but this time they’re being mixed and layered in bold, playful ways. The structure of plaid paired with the softness of floral created a nostalgic yet fresh look that felt charming, intentional, and incredibly livable.

5. Texture Play: Leather + Fabric Combos

We noticed a big emphasis on mixed-material upholstery — like leather-outback chairs with cozy fabric seats, or sofas done in chunky woven textiles trimmed in leather. These combinations added depth, interest, and a custom-crafted feel to each piece.

6. Curves & Waves

Curves are officially here to stay — but they’ve evolved. This Market leaned away from scalloped edges and toward more organic, wavy shapes. Sofas, tables, even beds showcased fluid lines inspired by natural movement. It’s a softer, more approachable interpretation of modern design — still elegant, but wonderfully livable.

7. The “Mini Skirt” Detail

One of the most unexpected (and delightful) trends we spotted was the return of skirted furniture — but with a twist. Instead of full-length skirts, designers are embracing mini skirts — just a few inches long — to reveal the legs beneath.

Some legs were carved or on casters; others were sleek and simple. Either way, this small detail added a wink of tradition and a dose of personality — classic with a cheeky edge.

Final Thoughts: Timeless, but Fresh

While there were plenty of exciting new ideas, what really stood out this Market was how timeless many of these trends felt. They’re rooted in classic design principles — warmth, texture, craftsmanship — yet updated in ways that feel fresh and enduring.

We left feeling inspired and eager to bring these looks into our projects this season and beyond. There’s something deeply comforting about this return to cozy luxury — design that feels lived in, layered, and deeply personal.

Stay tuned as we share more about each trend, along with photos, favorite pieces, and tips on how to bring these Market-inspired looks into your home.
